The small village I live in boasts the world’s highest ratio of abandoned Neons to people, with there being 10. 7 abandoned Neons per 1000 people. This is an unfortunate number that only adds to the reason why many consider this town a dump.

Does your region have no junkyards? I don’t understand the collecting of derelict cars on one’s property unless they’re really interesting cars. A shitbox like a Neon will probably never have more value than it does today (near zero, mind you).

We do. This is across from the service station. I think the owner’s son bought them as parts cars (the abandoned BMWs are all parts cars).

But yes, we have a junkyard in the middle of town, basically.

My friend’s parents had 3 dead Dodge Neons and 1 live one when I was in highschool/college . They just kind of sat in their various garages with basically no miles. They were so crap that they all broke at like 30k miles.

I have noticed this in remote areas of the Midwest. Plenty of space and junkyards are sparse, so it’s probably not usually worth dragging them in to one.

My neighbors dad had owned a small town dodge dealership till the 90s, then just has the service station and would buy/ sell dodges . After he finally retired , turns out he had over 2 dozen shitbox late 90s dodges in various states of disrepair. The even crazier part was he paying 500 a month for a few years to store them all.
